MATHIAS AKEEM OMARI

Mathias “Mat” Akeem Omari, age 36, passed away on June 11, 2026, surrounded by friends and family who love him dearly. Mat was born to Eva (Thrower) Williams and John Omari in Dallas, Texas, on September 14, 1989.

Mat was a passionate lover of music, a true connoisseur of sound, and a Drake enthusiast who proudly represented the “Nawf” of Dallas everywhere he went. His creativity, humor, and distinctive presence made him unforgettable to everyone who crossed his path. Whether he was writing music, debating albums, or cracking jokes that had the entire room laughing, Mat had a rare ability to connect with people, to make them feel understood by bringing joy even in the smallest moments. As he navigated his journey, he found a growing closeness with the Lord, seeking comfort and clarity in God’s presence.

Mat leaves behind his children, Jacorien, Timothy, and Tyrani; his mother Eva Williams and father John Omari; his siblings Kashundra Thrower Parson (Blake) and Kyng Ali “Sabina” Omari; his niece Daija Stephens; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his life and his laughter.
