Loran Hopkins 61, was born on August 18, 1963 in Hollandale, Mississippi to the late Frank and Maggie Hopkins. She was the 4th child out of 10. She graduated from Simmons High school class of 1981 and was baptized at First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T.R. Clay. She moved to Dallas, Tx. in the early 2000's with her sisters. She was the best story teller when it came to the old days, life experiences and all about our family history. She loved to dance, sing, and have a great time. But to sum it all up, she was the "Life of the Party". She joined New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Reginald Jefferson. she served on the Usher Ministry A doorkeeper for the Lord, Usher Secretary, and Sunday School Secretary. She loved Reading the Bible and studying the word of God. She left an impact on all who knew her. She was well loved and A faithful member at New Hope Baptist Church until her health failed her. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Maggie Hopkins, Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts. She leaves to cherish her memories 6 Brothers; Rev. Larry Hopkins(Barbara), Richard Hopkins, Frank Hopkins Jr., Purlvon Hopkins, Tony Hopkins (Ebony), and Christopher Hopkins. 3 Sisters; Bonita Hamilton, Linda Rush(Charles) and Kanisha Hopkins. Loran will be greatly missed by A large extended family including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
