LARRY WAYNE GIVENS

Larry (Giv) Givens was born on March 8, 1958, in Athens, Henderson County, Texas, to Earl Marshall Givens and Carrie Lee Mathis Givens. He received his public education in Garland ISD and graduated from Garland High School with the Class of 1976.

Larry was a hardworking man and a true jack of all trades. With more than 40 years of experience, he was a highly skilled mechanic who worked for Georgia-Pacific, Deerborn, Johnson Controls, and Ingersoll Rand. His knowledge, work ethic, and willingness to help others earned him the respect of everyone who knew him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Marshall and Carrie Lee Givens; his brother, Hubert Earl Givens; and his sisters, Linda Kay Whitley and Kathy Arletha Clay.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving siblings: Brenda (Andrew) Crumpton of Rowlett; James Givens of Garland; Frederick (Lisa) Givens of Cedar Hill; Rhonda Givens of Mesquite; and LeTricia Givens of Garland. He also leaves behind his nephews, Roderick Clay and Valenti Randle; his nieces, Draceana (Jermaine) McKinney, LaRaysha (Charles) Allen, Mercedes (Keldric) Hall, and Taylor Givens; great-nieces Ahrianna Morgan, Chrisette Maloy, Cydney Maloy, Emerson Hall, Elliot Hall, Everest Hall, and Ameliyah Johnson; great-nephews Daylon (Asia) Whitley, Berlin Morgan, and Chance Allen; one great-great-niece, Eden Whitley; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.

Larry also leaves behind his best friend until the very end, Ronnie Banks, along with many dear friends throughout the Garland community. He dearly loved the Rainbow Estates neighborhood, and that community loved him right back.
