KWAME JERMAINE STEPHENS

Kwame Jermaine Stephens, age 41, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2025.

Born on March 2, 1984, in Dallas, Texas, to Marilyn Ayangebeso and Kwame Anane. Kwame grew up in Garland, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from South Garland High School and went on to work for the City of Garland.

Outside of work, Kwame enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and spending time with friends. He will be remembered most for his sense of humor, his deep love for family, and the joy of his laughter. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Kwame is survived by his father Kwame Anane, brother Dylan Stephens Sr., and his children: David Propes, Daniel Propes, Kaleb Stephens, and Kobe Stephens. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Ayangebeso. Although Kwame's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at One Community Church, 200 E Interstate 30, Garland, TX 75043. Interment will follow at Rockwall Cemetery, 1300 S Goliad St., Rockwall, TX. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Kwame’s life.
