John Thomas Williams Jr. (Pedro) was born on November 27, 1947, to the parentage of John Thomas Williams and Nellie Mae Willliams. He accepted Christ at an early age, being guided spiritually by John Thomas Williams, Sr. He attended George Washington Carver and graduated from Garland High School. After leaving Garland High School, he attended Tulsa University where he anchored the linebacker position. He received many accolades as a starting linebacker for the University of Tulsa. He had a brief career playing NFL football with the Houston Oilers until he had a knee injury that ended his career.
After graduating college, he began employment at the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation department. He soon started a career in Parks and Recreation for the City of Garland where he eventually retired. He married Gloria Jean Dukes on February 14, 1976. Gloria preceded Him death, passing on July 5, 2024. John lived a respectable life as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a well-respected citizen in the Garland community.
He leaves to mourn two sons, Jermaine Williams, Brandon Jamar Williams, one daughter, Johnna Ann Williams, three grandsons, Dante Williams, Jermaine Wright, Brandon Williams, two granddaughters, Michelle Mitchel, Attiana Williams, three sisters, Delores Thomas of Garland, Gwen Hamilton, of Garland, Ellen Hart of Garland, brother-in-law Edward Hamilton of Garland, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
