JAMES "STIXX" POLLARD

March 1, 1966 — January 11, 2026

James William "Stixx" Pollard Jr. entered the world on March 1, 1966, to the parentage of Jearline Finley and James W. Pollard, Sr. in Dallas, Texas. He was a 1985 graduate of Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland Tx. James was fortunate to have been reared in a loving, supportive, blended family that included his mom, grandmother, uncle, aunt, sister and cousins who all affectionately referred to him as "Jimmy." He was introduced by this tribe of believers to Christ early in life. One of the early churches he attended was Open door Church of God in Christ, where he was fortunate to begin his musical training as a drummer from his musical mentor Bubba Hogan. Throughout his life James has served this world as one of the best drummers to have graced humanity. He was fortunate to have opportunities to perform and serve audiences with the best of the best. As an adolescent Jimmy formed his first musical group The "PWs." made up with his family members. He also was a proud member of Texas Northeast Gospel Chorale Ensemble, AKA "The Hums" serving as their drummer. He served as a musician at Griggs Chapel Baptist Church until his health failed. His music will forever be heard and remembered. His influence will live on in every life he touched.

Jimmy was preceded in eternal rest by his father James W. Pollard, Sr., Grandmother - Alzee Johnson; Aunt - Louise William; uncle - Bodice William; Son - Daryl McCoy; and grandson - Roderick Smith.

He leaves to carry on his legacy and cherish his memory: His mother - Jearline Pollard; Sister Karen Denny; Sons - Genteon Dunbar, Davian (Alexis) Jackson, James W. Pollard III; Daughters -Kamela Smith-Pollard, Jameqwa (Cameron) Moblin and DeNedra Cummings, one nephew, fifteen grandchildren, musical colleagues, other relatives, and friends.

Jimmy, you have fought the good fight, you have finished your race, you have kept the faith. Now there is in store for you the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to you. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 (NIV). Now take your rest, you will forever be remembered and missed by your family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.
