ALICE MARIE MILLS

Alice Marie Mills was born on September 14,

1947 to the parents of Charles Edwards Mills

and Charlsa Mae Starling. Alice was born in

Rusk, Texas but later moved to Garland

where she attended the George Washington

Carver school for her education. Alice loved

to go to church, so she visited several

including Lavon Baptist in Garland. She

became a member of Miracle Deliverance

under the late Pastor Ruby Hall and she was

baptized here as well. Alice has always been

known as the “babysitter of Garland”

, so she

frequently took kids to places like the local

pizza place, the public library, and the skating

rink. If you knew Alice then you know that she

loved to go to the Dallas Mavericks games, to

the State Fair of Texas and rode the DART bus

all over Dallas. Alice had a love for the

casinos in Oklahoma and everyone knew that

she loved her Lottery tickets. Shopping on

Ebay was another one of her hobbies where

she ordered her dolls and she always had to

have the biggest TV every year for Christmas.

To know Alice was truly a blessing, she never

met a stranger, and her giggles when she

laughed is one that will never be forgotten.

Alice departed this life on September 23,

2026 and was preceded in death by her father

Charles E. Mills, her step-father Mutt(Albert)

Starling, her brothers, Robert G. Mills, Billy G.

Starling and her mother Charlsa Mae

Starling.

Alice leaves to cherish her memories: Her

sister, Betty R. Starling, and aunts Beulah

Jackson and Faye Taylor and a host of nieces

and nephews.
